ARCHIVED - 76 new Covid cases across two days and reduced hospital admissions in Alicante province
204 new cases across the three provinces of the Valencia region
On Monday (June 21) the Valencian regional Ministry of Health reported a total of 204 new diagnoses of coronavirus since Saturday (no figures are published on Sunday), which brings the total number of positives diagnosed to date in the region to 398,192 people. By provinces, 7 of the new cases are in Castellón (41,313 in total); 76 in Alicante (148,963 in total); and 121 in Valencia province, (207,915 in total).
Hospitals: The situation within hospitals in Alicante province continues to improve, as the number of patients admitted with Covid slowly falls.
This Monday, there are only 18 people hospitalised in the province, two of them in ICU intensive care units. This means that there are seven fewer people admitted than on Friday, and one less in intensive care.
Across the whole of the Valencia region there are currently 112 people admitted: 14 in the province of Castellón, 1 patient in ICU; and 80 in the province of Valencia, 11 of them in ICU; in addition to those of Alicante.
Fatalities: In the last two days just one death from coronavirus in the whole of the Valencia region has been reported, so the total number of deaths since the start of the pandemic has risen to 7,448. By provinces, 807 have occurred in Castellón and 3,799 in Valencia. In Alicante the figure is 2,842 , but the good news is that there have been no deaths reported in the Alicante province since last Friday, June 11.
Recoveries: 397 patients have been given the all-clear within the last 48 hour period, bringing the recoveries total for the region to 400,139 since the pandemic began. By province this breaks down to : 41,927 in Castellón, 149,311 in Alicante and 208,844 in Valencia.
Active cases: According to the latest data, there are currently 2,072 active cases across the three provinces of the region.
Accumulated incidence: the accumulated incidence rate over the last 14 days per 100,000 of population has risen slightly in the last week to 42.41.This means that the region is no longer the region with the lowest rate in Spain as the top spot has now been taken over by the Galicia region with 40.90 followed by the Balearic Islands with a rate of 40.97, and then the Valencia region. Murcia has a figure of 49.63.
The national average is 92.46 and the highest figure is Andalucia with 173.53.
Vaccinations: A total of 2,383,919 people have been given at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine in the Valencian Community. There are 1,446,899 people fully immunized (two doses for Pfizer, Moderna and AstraZeneca; or the single dose from Janssen). By province this breaks down as follows : 175,835 in Castellón, 538,177 in Alicante and 732,887 in Valencia.
