17 people injured in Torremolinos as bus and lorry crash into each other on AP-7
The road was closed for hours and long tailbacks have been reported following the multi-vehicle collision on Sunday afternoon

Emergency services initially reported 12 people with minor injuries, but that number has now been revised to 17 by 112 Andalucía. According to the first update, eleven of the injured were on board the bus, while the twelfth was the lorry driver, who was trapped in his vehicle following the collision.
Eight of the injured were taken to the Hospital Clínico de Málaga, and four were transferred to the Regional Hospital. The condition of the five additional people, included in the latest update, has not yet been detailed, but all were taken to hospital for treatment.
The accident forced a complete closure of the AP-7 in the Cádiz direction and caused traffic tailbacks stretching over two and a half kilometres. The road remained closed until just after 3.00pm, according to the Dirección General de Tráfico (DGT).
The incident sparked a large emergency response. According to 112 Andalucía, multiple calls were received from witnesses reporting the crash and possible injuries. In response, a coordinated effort was launched involving medical teams, the Guardia Civil´s traffic unit, Civil Protection, Policia Local, and firefighters from both the Málaga Fire Brigade and the Provincial Consortium.
Traffic flow was severely affected, not just on the AP-7 but also on nearby routes. Congestion was reported from kilometre 1.62 of the MA-20 in Churriana back to kilometre 0 in Torremolinos.
The exact cause of the accident has not yet been made public, and authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
