ARCHIVED - 1.3 million residents of the Valencia region fully immunised against Covid
Nationally more than 13 million Spanish residents have now been fully immunised
Although the Comunidad Valenciana remains the region of Spain with the lowest incidence of Covid in the country, this does not diminish the determination of the authorities to roll-out the vaccination campaign as rapidly as possible and vaccinations continue apace across the three provinces of Alicante, Castellón and Valencia to try and reach 70 per cent coverage of the adult population by July, the target set by the national government.
As of Wednesday June 16, the regional health authorities have administered at least one dose of the vaccine to 2,232,512 Valencian residents.
1,315,298 people are now fully vaccinated having received either two doses of Pfizer, Moderna or AstraZeneca or a single dose of the monodose Janssen vaccine.
By provinces this breaks down to 160,416 in Castellón, 486,044 in Alicante and 668.838 in Valencia.
The national government has said that this week more than three million doses of Covid vaccines are being delivered to Spain; Manises airport in Valencia has already received two direct shipments of Pfizer vaccines on Monday and Tuesday for use in the region.
