Mercedes gets stuck on popular Benidorm beach
A car was parked and left on the Costa Blanca beach for some unknown reason
There was hilarity in Benidorm this weekend when a car unexpectedly turned up on the Playa del Poniente beach, completely stuck in the sand.
The surprise discovery was found on the beach proper, right where the famous colourful promenade ends and the Avenida de Llorca Alós begins.
Benidorm Local Police reported the situation on its Facebook account, writing that they understood that the beaches in the city “are tempting”, but that this takes saving a spot on the beach a step too far.
It’s not known how or why the offending vehicle, a Mercedes-Benz A200d, ended up on the beach, but it was quickly written up for a parking ticket and towed by police.
They took the opportunity to remind people that there are 3,383 free parking spaces in the Poniente area.
