Winter sun but a cold snap in store: Murcia weekend weather forecast December 5-9
There will be a sudden drop in temperatures in Murcia this Sunday
It will be sunny in Murcia this weekend, and will continue to be so into next week, but we are due to get a last blast heat before a sudden cold snap causes temperatures to plummet from Sunday – and to stay down!
According to the weather forecast from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), this Thursday December 5 brings “Intervals of cloudy skies, decreasing to partly cloudy in the afternoon”. Temperatures will remain unchanged, except inland where the maximum temperatures will rise to a toasty 21ºC. There will be “light westerly winds, with moderate intervals in the afternoon.”
For Friday December 6, Aemet forecasts “fairly cloudy skies, with intervals of high clouds” and temperatures will be rising across the board up to highs of 21-24ºC during the day.
On Saturday 7, too, there will be sunny skies and a light breeze, and temperatures will actually reach their peak of 25ºC in the central areas of the Region.

That’s where the December ‘heatwave’ ends, though, as from Sunday December 8 we will be treated to temperatures “in general decline, which will be noticeable in the maximums”, which reach up to only 18ºC in the centre and along the coast during the day.
Minimum temperatures, meanwhile, will drop by about three degrees at night across the board, so wearing socks in bed is probably a good idea from now on, especially if you are in a high-altitude area of Murcia as there will be “light frost” and “occasional very strong gusts”.

These colder temperatures will persist into Monday and on into next week, although it will still be sunny and dry for the most part.
