Wet start to Holy Week: Alicante Weather forecast April 14-17
Processions have been cancelled throughout Alicante province because such heavy rain is expected

Alicante’s Holy Week has got off to a soggy start, with processions suspended across the province due to heavy rain and a yellow weather alert in the north. The gloomy outlook from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) confirms what many were fearing: unstable skies and scattered storms will dominate the coming days.
Monday April 14 brings overcast skies and bursts of heavy rain, particularly in the afternoon.
Thunderstorms and small hail are possible and once again, muddy showers could be on the cards thanks to suspended Saharan dust lingering in the atmosphere. Despite the cloud cover, temperatures are expected to hold steady or rise slightly.

Tuesday April 15 will be very mixed. Partly cloudy skies with the chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms are forecast, especially inland. Some of that stormy weather could drift toward the coast later in the day. Temperatures will drop slightly, though coastal areas will remain mild. Expect moderate westerly winds.

We can expect some improvement on Wednesday April 16, with more sunshine breaking through by the evening. Showers may still pop up inland and winds could get gusty in the far north. Temperatures will mostly stay the same, with a slight dip on Castellón’s southern coast.

By Thursday April 17, things start looking up: a mix of sun and high clouds, with temperatures on the rise — especially inland. Winds will remain breezy but should ease off by the evening.

Minimum and maximum temperatures in Alicante this week
- Monday April 14: Min 11ºC; Max 22ºC
- Tuesday April 15: Min 7ºC; Max 23ºC
- Wednesday April 16: Min 6ºC; Max 22ºC
- Thursday April 17: Min 7ºC; Max 25ºC
