Vote to decide on the new facilities for La Cubana park in Alhama
The winning choices will be publicly revealed in Alhama de Murcia on May 10
Between May 1 and 10, Alhama de Murcia residents will have the opportunity to vote on the kinds of facilities they want to see in the new La Cubana park, which will be located on the site of the old playground.
This is the second round of voting; last month, the Town Hall launched a similar initiative for locals to choose the overall design of the park.
This time around, residents will be asked to decide between different options in three separate categories:
- Option 1 – Sports: Select either a skate park, basketball/soccer multi-court or a cycling circuit.
- Option 2 – Food & drink: Decide between a bar/cafeteria and a kiosk.
- Option 3 – Leisure: Choose whether the park should have a calisthenics area, a bio-healthy exercise zone, a multi-adventure circuit, a children’s games area or a picnic spot.
How to vote
From May 1, anyone interested in taking part will be able to vote through the Alhama de Murcia Town Hall website.
Alternatively, you can vote in person at the following locations:
- May 4: Casa de la Cultura from 9.30am to 1.30pm
- May 6 to 10: Casa de la Cultura from 9am to 1.30pm and between 4pm and 8pm
- May 7: A municipal tent will be set up at the weekly market from 8.30am to 1.30pm and at the Casa de la Cultura from 4pm until 8pm
- May 8: Miguel Hernández High School from 9.30am to 3pm
- May 9: Instituto Valle de Leyva from 9.30am to 3pm
Voting is open exclusively to residents over 16 years of age who are registered in Alhama de Murcia. This process ensures that residents have a direct voice in the urban planning and development of their community.

The counting of the votes will be carried out publicly on May 10 at 2pm.
