Two British carjackers caught red handed in Alicante
The pair was carrying a huge cache of car-stealing tools when they were pulled over in El Campello

Two British nationals were caught in the act of preparing to commit a carjacking in Alicante after being stopped by local police during a routine checkpoint. The incident occurred early on Wednesday morning, April 9, on the Camino de la Tocha in El Campello, and the car that the pair was driving was packed to the rafters with every conceivable tool of the trade.
As the officers approached the vehicle, they noticed that the two occupants appeared nervous and restless, which immediately set off alarm bells. A subsequent search of the car revealed a cache of tools and equipment that are commonly used for vehicle theft, including a vehicle cylinder, car key, small video camera, OBD reader that can check for mechanical failures and a gadget commonly used as a frequency jammer on wireless devices like car keys.
The police also found a number of other items, such as gloves, black caps and a garment to cover the neck, which suggested that the pair were planning to use disguises to carry out their crime. Additionally, they found packing tape, several screwdrivers shaped like lock picks and a hammer, which could be used to break into a vehicle.

Some of the tools they carried are used to decode locks by turning the handle's wheels until they obtain the decoded shape that simulates the original key, allowing the vehicle's door to be opened.
All of this clearly pointed to the fact that the Britons were on their way to steal a car.
The two suspects were also found to be in possession of several doses of marijuana and the driver tested positive for drugs. The local police seized all of the material and handed the suspects over to Guardia Civil for further investigation and eventual prosecution.
