Tourists leave their toddlers on Spanish city bus
The French couple raced around Valencia city for 40 minutes in search of their missing children
A pair of French toddlers embarked on an unexpected solo adventure this week when their parents left them behind on a Valencia city bus.
The family was heading to the González Martí National Ceramics Museum, one of Valencia’s most popular tourist attractions, on line 28 of the Municipal Transport Company (EMT) buses. Mum and Dad were sitting up front with the children, aged three and five, right behind them.
The parents hopped off the bus at the stop beside the museum, and were horrified to discover that their kids hadn’t followed. By the time they realised they were on their own, the bus had already rejoined the traffic and headed away.
What followed was a terrifying 40-minute race across the city in search of the children. The couple jumped in a taxi and stopped every EMT they came across, while officers from the National Police scoured the streets.
After a heart-stopping search, the family was reunited, the children safe and sound, but it’s safe to say these parents won’t be letting their children out of their sight for the remainder of the holiday.
