The rain returns this Easter weekend: Alicante weather forecast Mar 28-Apr 1
Easter Saturday and Sunday are expected to be very wet throughout Alicante province
Weather outlook on Easter Sunday in Alicante
So far, Alicante province has managed to dodge the worst of the driving rain brought on by the arrival of storm Nelson but sadly, things are about to take a turn for the worst over the weekend. Several weather warnings have been issued for dangerously high waves and strong winds, and the rain will make a comeback just in time for the main Easter celebrations.
Thursday March 28
Maundy Thursday will be cloudy with a chance of scattered showers inland. The rain will let up in the afternoon and the sky should brighten up a bit. Both day and night-time temperatures will increase and a moderate southweaterly wind will impact most areas.
However, the north and south coasts have been issued with yellow weather warnings between noon and 3pm due to rough seas.
Friday March 29
The sky will be partly cloudy, becoming more overcast in the afternoon, with a small chance of showers. Overall, it won’t be as warm as the previous day and the temperatures will drop on Friday night.
The wind will come from the south and pick up speed during the morning before dying down again at night.
A weather alert for strong gusts has been issued on the northern coast of Alicante and inland, while the southern coast is on alert for high waves.
Saturday March 30
All of the weather warnings have been lifted for Easter Saturday but the day will still be largely overcast. There’s a good chance of rain throughout the day inland, and this could easily spread to the coast in the form of weak showers. Day and night-time temperatures will fall but the winds will die down considerably.
Sunday March 31
Easter Sunday will again be cloudy and the rain will start early in the morning, working from west to east as the hours go by. Few changes are expected temperature-wise but the southerly wind will pick up again, with strong intervals forecast in high or exposed areas.
Monday April 1
The weather will be far better on Easter Monday and while the skies won’t clear completely, there is very little chance of rain in Alicante. Daytime temperatures will also stabilise at around 21ºC or 22ºC.
Minimum and maximum temperatures in Alicante this weekend
- Thursday: 12ºC to 23ºC
- Friday: 8ºC to 24ºC
- Saturday: 6ºC to 21ºC
- Sunday: 9ºC to 22ºC
- Monday: 7ºC to 22ºC
