The beaches of La Gola and Playa Paraíso have reopened this Friday
Swimming is once again allowed on these Mar Menor beaches after the most recent water quality test gave more positive results

The waters of the Playa de la Gola beach in La Manga del Mar Menor and the Playa Paraíso beach are open for swimming again this Friday August 1 following a positive water analysis result.
Last Wednesday’s negative water analysis forced lifeguards to raise the red flag in both bathing areas of the Mar Menor since last July 30.
Cartagena City Council did not detect any incident in the sewage and sanitation network that could be related to this episode.
“The technicians are assessing the possibility that the recent easterly storm has dragged into the Mar Menor through the channel of La Gola maritime discharges from the Mediterranean,” they said in a statement.
Water quality analyses are carried out daily in all swimming areas of Cartagena beaches “to ensure the safety of holidaymakers”.
