The Amigo de Lorca tourism discount card

Reduced prices all year round at many of the main attraction in the historic city of Lorca

The Amigo de Lorca card acts as a tourism voucher enabling not only locals and residents but also visitors to the “City of the Sun” to enjoy the main tourism resources at discounted prices, or in some instances completely free of charge.

There is a small registration fee, but the cost can easily be offset in just one day, so for regular visitors it really represents a considerable saving!

Card holders enjoy the following benefits:

• Free entry to the grounds of Lorca castle, including the visitors’ centre and exhibitions. This does not include “special products”.
• Free entry to the following museums: MuBBla embroidery museum, MASS embroidery museum, Museo Azul de la Semana Santa.
• Reduced prices on guided tours to the Santuario Virgen de las Huertas and Palacio Califal, the old fountains of the city of Lorca, Sephardic Lorca Yesterday and Today, etc.
• Discounted prices for certain events related to the fiestas of San Antón, Carnival, Halloween, nighttime tours, etc.
• 10 per cent discount in souvenir shops and the "Las Caballerizas” restaurant in Lorca castle.
• Reduced prices for accompanying visitors (cannot be applied on top of other discounts). This reduction is applied automatically to all accompanying visitors during their visit.

In addition, there are certain other advantages:

• Holders can benefit from special promotions all year round.
• Holders receive the regular monthly newsletter with information about guided tours and special events.
• Participation in special social media events and on the websites of Lorca Taller del Tiempo and Turismo de Lorca.
• Residents of Lorca and those who were born in the municipality can obtain a card for just 10 euros (20 euros for a family card).

The card is valid for one year from the date it is obtained.

Anyone is entitled to an Amigo de Lorca card.

Prices

For residents in Lorca and those who were born in the municipality: 10 euros (family card 20 euros).Other applicants: 30 euros (family card 45 euros).

Application

The card can be provided or renews at either;

• The La Merced visitors’ centre, or
• Lorca castle.

(Residents or natives of Lorca will need to show their DNI/NIE or “empadronamiento” certificate” to receive the lower price).

All applicants will need to provide proof of identity.

To apply for a family card it is necessary to show the ID of all family members or a “Libro de Familia” in which all applicants are stated.
