ARCHIVED - Temperatures set to fall this weekend: Alicante weather June 24-27
The mercury looks set to fall by up to 5ºC in parts of Alicante province

The heatwave of late will subside this weekend with overnight temperatures which have led to balmy, tropical nights recently set to fall by up to 4ºC in parts of Alicante on Friday and Saturday (June 24 and 25). Daytime maximums will drop by up to 5ºC, particularly in the Vega Baja area where this reprieve will feel more notable.
According to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), Friday June 24 will be mostly clear with afternoon cloud further inland. Although maximum temperatures will remain above 30ºC, westerly winds inland and south and south-easterly on the coast will make it feel that bit more breezy.
- Alcoy: 17ºC (min) to 30ºC
- Alicante: 19ºC to 31ºC
- Denia: 20ºC to 32ºC
- Elche: 19ºC to 33ºC
- Orihuela: 19ºC to 33ºC
Again, clear skies are forecast on Saturday June 25, and the mercury is expected to fall noticeably. Moderate south and south-easterly winds are expected on the coast, tending to be light easterly elsewhere in the province.
- Alcoy: 16ºC to 31ºC
- Alicante: 18ºC to 28ºC
- Denia: 20ºC to 30ºC
- Elche: 17ºC to 31ºC
- Orihuela: 17ºC to 33ºC
Sunday June 26 will dawn with light cloud or clear skies, and intervals of low cloud before midday. Aemet has forecast reduced visibility in southern high areas due to dust in suspension and maximum temperatures will begin to fall. Light to moderate easterly winds are likely on the coast.
- Alcoy: 16ºC to 30ºC
- Alicante: 18ºC to 28ºC
- Denia: 19ºC to 30ºC
- Elche: 17ºC to 29ºC
- Orihuela: 16ºC to 29ºC
It's a whole different picture on Monday June 27 when showers and occasional thunderstorms are forecast in the northern half of the province and haven't been ruled out in the south as the day progresses. There will be cloudy intervals and reduced visibility in high areas in the south of the province due to dust in suspension.
- Alcoy: 15ºC to 29ºC
- Alicante: 20ºC to 29ºC
- Denia: 20ºC to 29ºC
- Elche: 18ºC to 30ºC
