Spain is heading into the final days of summer with plenty of sunshine, very warm temperatures and generally settled conditions across much of the country.

 

Although the autumn equinox arrives this week, the weather will feel more like the height of summer in many parts of Spain, with temperatures several degrees above normal for late September. Rain will be limited for most of the country, although some areas could see cloudier skies and occasional showers.

 

The week gets off to a largely settled and sunny start, with clear or partly cloudy skies across most of Spain. Some low cloud is possible during the morning in parts of Galicia, the Cantabrian coast, the Balearics and around the southern Mediterranean.

 

Temperatures will rise across much of the north, with inland areas once again seeing summer-like warmth. A few spots could climb above 30°C, while conditions remain particularly warm across central and southern Spain.

 

Only a small chance of drizzle is expected around the Strait of Gibraltar and Melilla.

 

Warm weather will continue, with long sunny spells expected across much of the country. Temperatures are likely to climb further in many inland areas, with highs of 32°C to 34°C possible in parts of central and southern Spain.

 

The Mediterranean coast should remain warm, although some coastal areas may see periods of cloud. The north will also enjoy generally settled conditions, with no widespread rainfall expected.

 

The first full day of autumn will still feel distinctly summery in many parts of Spain. Sunshine will dominate, although some areas could see broken cloud or high cloud during the day.

 

Temperatures will remain well above average for the time of year, particularly across central and southern inland areas. The north should also stay warm, while coastal breezes will keep temperatures slightly lower in some Mediterranean locations.

 

Little change is expected, with another warm and mostly settled day on the cards. Bright or sunny conditions will dominate across much of Spain and temperatures could reach 34°C in some inland areas.

 

The Mediterranean and southern regions will remain particularly warm, while winds will be more noticeable around the Strait of Gibraltar and some coastal areas.
