ARCHIVED - Slight upturn in daily cases: Valencia Covid update March 10
New infections have risen marginally in Alicante province and the rest of the region for the second day running

Following a steady fall in daily Covid cases over the last couple of weeks, the Valencia region's Ministry of Health has reported a slight upturn for the second consecutive day this week, although the rise is marginal and active cases continue to fall.
Hospital admissions are down, although there are currently 64 critically ill patients in ICU, up two in 24 hours, and the 14-day cumulative incidence has dropped to 315.45 cases per 100,000.

Coronavirus cases
The regional Ministry of Health has reported 2,326 new cases in the last 24 hours, a slight increase on the 2,154 cases on Wednesday and 1,975 cases reported on Tuesday. This brings the total number of positives since the beginning of the pandemic to 1,313,459 people.
By province: 157 have been recorded in Castellón (157,859 in total), 655 in Alicante (457,794) and 1,514 in Valencia (697,802). The number of unassigned cases remains at four.
According to the health data, there are currently 16,956 active cases, down from 17,656 on Wednesday, which represent 1.33% of the total positives.
Hospitalisations
There are currently 563 people admitted to hospital with Covid, 15 less than 24 hours ago, 64 of them in ICU (two more than on Wednesday): 81 in the province of Castellón, 5 in ICU; 181 in the province of Alicante, 22 of them in ICU; and 301 in the province of Valencia, 37 in ICU.
3,024 people have overcome the virus since the last update, which means the total number of recoveries since the start of the pandemic now stands at 1,298,846.
By provinces, the recoveries are distributed as follows: 156,458 in Castellón, 452,122 in Alicante and 690,207 in Valencia. The number of unassigned cases stands at 59.
Fatalities
Two Covid-related deaths have been reported in the latest update. All of the deaths occurred in the last seven days and bring the overall death toll since the start of the health crisis in the Valencia region to 9,098: 1,052 in the province of Castellón, 3,470 in Alicante and 4,576 in Valencia.
The deceased are two men aged between 60 and 77.
