Seven earthquakes in Sierra Espuña this Sunday in the space of just a few hours
None of this Sunday’s earthquakes were large or dangerous

The Region of Murcia was the site of several low-magnitude seismic movements this Sunday January 11, in the area just west of Alhama de Murcia in the Sierra Espuña Regional Park, according to data from the National Geographic Institute (IGN).
All of the earthquakes measured in on the Richter scale with a magnitude of between 1.5 and 2.1. The deepest of the earthquakes occurred at a depth of approximately 33 kilometres below ground. No damage whatsoever was reported from any of the seven quakes.
The day before, on Saturday January 10, there was a 2.1-magnitude tremor in the southern Mediterranean-Levante, as well as another 1.7-magnitude tremor west of Mazarrón, both with no reports of damage.
According to the IGN, none of the earthquakes reached sufficient intensity to cause personal injury or material damage, and most were only slightly felt or else went unnoticed altogether.
The Region of Murcia is located in an area of moderate seismic activity, so these types of events are considered normal within geological norms, say experts from the IGN.
