Roadworks to cause disruption on A-7 motorway through Costa del Sol this October
Just one lane of traffic will be open going in each direction, but only at night

Work to renew and repair the road surface of the A-7 autovía as it runs through the Costa del Sol will be taking place throughout October, and will cause traffic disruption until the end of the month.
The lane closures have already started on the motorway as it passes through Fuengirola, Mijas and Marbella, with work scheduled to last from Monday September 25 until the end of October.
Only one lane of traffic will be open going in each direction between kilometres 1,013.145 and 1,041.230.
To avoid major traffic jams, the lane closures will mostly be at night, on Mondays until 6am and from Tuesdays to Fridays between 10pm and 6am. On weekends, there will be no lane closures.
The aim is that this roadwork, which has a budget of 6.2 million euros, will allow the expansion joints of the different decks of the stretch indicated to be replaced and road signals to be improved.
On the A-7 as it runs from Crevillente to Orihuela in Alicante province, there are plans to expand the dual carriageway to give it an extra lane, though as yet there is no indication of when this will happen.
