Rain on the way: Alicante Weather forecast June 10-13
Widespread rain and thundery showers are forecast until mid-week in Alicante province
A DANA swept across Spain over the weekend and brought wintery conditions back to inland Alicante. According to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), this has now retreated only to be replaced by an Atlantic front, which will result in unstable weather throughout the province until at least Wednesday.
This front will make its way across the country as the week goes on but as it’s path is still unclear, Aemet has pointed out that there is some “uncertainty regarding rainfall” between Monday June 10 and Wednesday June 12. However, weather warnings have been issued in the centre of the province, where most of the stormy weather is predicted to hit.
Monday June 10
Cloudy intervals and occasional showers are forecast on Monday, but these are more likely in inland municipalities where they could develop into storms (a yellow weather warning for heavy rain is in place from noon).
Daytime temperatures will fall by a couple of degrees compared to the weekend, and a moderate breeze from the east will blow.
Minimum and maximum temperatures on Monday:
Alcoy: 17ºC to 25ºC
Alicante: 20ºC to 27ºC
Denia: 19ºC to 25ºC
Elche: 19ºC to 29ºC
Orihuela: 20ºC to 30ºC
Tuesday June 11
Another stormy day is forecast inland but the showers and overcast skies could extend to other parts of Alicante province as well. A light wind will grow stronger towards the afternoon as the daytime temperatures continue to drop.
A yellow weather alert for storms has been issued in inland Alicante from 2pm.
Minimum and maximum temperatures on Tuesday:
Alcoy: 14ºC to 23ºC
Alicante: 19ºC to 26ºC
Denia: 19ºC to 25ºC
Elche: 17ºC to 27ºC
Orihuela: 19ºC to 28ºC
Wednesday June 12
In the morning, intervals of low clouds and mists are expected in the interior of the province. During the afternoon, the cloud cover will increase and showers and occasional storms will be widespread, although no weather warnings have been issued.
The temperatures should remain more or less unchanged.
Minimum and maximum temperatures on Wednesday:
Alcoy: 13ºC to 23ºC
Alicante: 18ºC to 24ºC
Denia: 17ºC to 25ºC
Elche: 17ºC to 24ºC
Orihuela: 18ºC to 24ºC
Thursday June 13
The weather should begin to improve from Thursday and the skies will clear somewhat, although there’s still a chance of showers inland. A light to moderate wind will feel more breezy along the coast and day-time temperatures will begin to climb again.
Minimum and maximum temperatures on Thursday:
Alcoy: 14ºC to 22ºC
Alicante: 18ºC to 24ºC
Denia: 17ºC to 25ºC
Elche: 17ºC to 24ºC
Orihuela: 18ºC to 25ºC
