Time to get the brollies out as Murcia welcomes thunderstorms and heavy showers this weekend
Rain is expected to come and go in the Region of Murcia this weekend, the last in April, with the wettest day being Sunday 28.
Thursday April 25 sees rain only for Caravaca de la Cruz and other parts of the northwest of Murcia, while everywhere else it will be somewhat cloudy but with plenty of sunshine.

Friday 26 will also be bright, but with some foggy patches forecast in the early hours of the morning, especially in the north and west of the Region. On Saturday 27, the rain begins to arrive in the afternoon, reaching down from the north as far down as Alhama de Murcia and parts of central Murcia.

While the coast should be unaffected by the rain on Saturday, yellow weather warnings have been issued by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) for southwesterly winds being 12 midday and 8pm that could bring gusts of up to 50-60kmh at moments and lead to waves of 2-3 metres high.

It will be a dry night, but then by Sunday afternoon, April 28, there will be dark, heavy clouds and rainfall across pretty much the entire Region.

While Thursday, Friday and Saturday remain fairly warm, with daytime temperatures reaching into the mid-20s still, on Sunday we will feel the effects of an icy chill sweeping down across Spain from Greenland and maximum temperatures will be more like 18-20ºC.
Minimum temperatures should be unaffected, staying at around 8-14ºC at the coldest point of the night. For the beginning of next week, these night-time temperatures will drop slightly, but the maximums will go back up, even as more rain and dramatic thunderstorms are forecast for Monday April 29 and Tuesday 30.

Leak Proof, for all your roofing needs in the Costa Cálida and the Costa Blanca
Leak Proof is a British father and son business based in the southern Costa Blanca for over a decade which offers services for all roofing needs, not only in the province of Alicante but also throughout the Costa Cálida and the Region of Murcia.
All kinds of properties and roofs are catered for, whether they are old or new and whether the work required is on a complete roof or only on a specific area. Flat roofs are typical causes for concern regarding leaks, for example on extensions and garages, and the specialist knowledge and techniques used by Leak Proof are also applicable to fibreglass roofing, conservatories, covered passageways and even classic old “finca”-style properties with tiling issues.
30-year guarantees are supplied with fibreglass roofing (also known as GRP Roofing) and membrane roofing, a system for used for both buildings and tanks. The purpose of membrane roofing is to move water off the roof, and the membranes used are most commonly made of synthetic rubber, thermoplastic and modified bitumen.
Leak Proof guarantee that all of the membranes they employ are UV resistant and provide insulation against both hot and cold weather conditions, making them ideal for flat roofs and the floors of solariums, roof terraces and balconies.
In addition, they use a range of specialist waterproof paints for all interior and exterior work, and offer tiling and re-grouting services.
Insurance work and community projects on residential developments and urbanizations are undertaken, and full invoices are provided.
