Rain and storms return to parts of Spain: Weather forecast April 6-9
Temperatures will drop in western Spain, where most of the rain is forecast, and rise in the rest of the country

Average temperatures expected on Thursday April 9
Easter weekend is notoriously unpredictable but this year, the entire country enjoyed bright, cloudless skies and flawless temperatures. Unfortunately, the rain is set to return with a vengeance on Easter Monday to the west of the country, spreading upwards into central Spain by mid-week. However, many other parts of the country, particularly the east coast, will continue to enjoy sunny days and temperatures in the high-20s.
Monday April 6

Easter Monday will start off settled enough with daytime temperatures set to hit an incredible 30ºC in large parts of Andalucia. However, an approaching Atlantic front towards the evening will increase cloud cover in the west, along with a strong possibility of showers.
There’s also a chance of Saharan dust in the southwest.
Both day and nighttime temperatures will be unusually high for this time of year, although strong gusts of wind could cause problems in Andalucia, especially around the Gulf of Cádiz.
Tuesday April 7

Tuesday’s weather map is a real game of two halves, with widespread rain and thunderstorms affecting the entire west side of the country, from north to south. The east of Spain, on the other hand, will enjoy plenty of sunny spells alongside some cloudy intervals.
Where the rain is forecast to hit, temperatures will drop dramatically, with few changes elsewhere.
Wednesday April 8

The formation of a low-pressure system to the southwest of Spain, which is expected to remain stationary, will bring very cloudy skies and widespread rain to this area throughout Wednesday. While its path is still uncertain, the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) expects the storms to move towards central Spain later in the day. The rest of the country should remain dry if a little cloudy.
Temperatures will continue to fall in the southwest, very noticeably in western Andalucia, and climb again in the east of Spain.
Thursday April 9

As we get past the mid-week hump, Aemet expects the weather to settle down considerably. Even so, there’s still a strong chance of overcast skies and rain in the southwest during the first half of the day. Moving into the afternoon and evening, the skies should clear a bit and temperatures will take an upswing across most of the country.
