ARCHIVED - Pregnant women and children amongst 81 immigrants who reached Alicante coast overnight
Five pateras made it to different points in Benidorm and Santa Pola in Alicante province
Eleven children incuding three babies, and two pregnant women, were amongst 81 irregular immigrants aboard at least five small boats which managed to reach the coast of Alicante between 10pm on Monday September 27, and 4am the following morning.
The pateras (small dinghies) were located at different coastal points in Benidorm and Santa Pola, with all Algerian and Syrian occupants said to be in "good health", according to Cruz Roja (Red Cross) and Maritime Rescue, despite some of the passengers being extremely young or vulnerable.

The first vessel was intercepted about 160 km off the coast of Santa Pola with 23 people, including 13 men, four women, one of them pregnant, five children and a seven-month-old baby on board.
A second boat was then located by the Guardia Civil on land close to a beach in Benidorm, 70 km away. There were 14 passengers, all adult males.
During the six-hour period, a further three boats were intercepted in Benidorm with 46 people, including an eight-month-pregnant woman and her five children, onboard. The expectant mother was immediately taken to a nearby hospital.
The remainder of the irregular immigrant are currently at Alicante Port where they will receive assistance from the Red Cross and PCR tests will be carried out to detect possible Covid cases.
