Pick up free high-protection sun block at this Murcia beach
The ‘Enjoy the Sun Responsibly’ campaign has been launched in Los Alcázares
Los Alcázares is going the extra mile with its novel ‘Enjoy the Sun Responsibly’ campaign, launched on Sunday August 11. Throughout the summer, bathers enjoying the day at Playa Carrión will have access to factor 50 sun block, absolutely free.
Over the weekend, these high-protection sun screen dispensers were installed in every first aid station along the beach. They’ve been conveniently attached to the sides of the huts, which are open every day between 11am and 7pm.
To reinforce safe sun practices this summer, the Los Alcázares branch of the Civil Protection has also posted some handy hints and tips alongside the dispensers.
These information boards advise visitors to avoid sunbathing during the hottest hours of the day, between 12pm and 4pm, and recommend that children under the age of three be kept out of the sun altogether.
Anyone who wants to tan safely should choose a high-factor sun screen that’s suitable for their skin type.
Wearing the right clothes is also important, so choose light-coloured clothing and take extra care with sensitive skin areas such as moles and spots.
“With this campaign we aim to ensure that people are protected and informed about sun exposure while enjoying the beaches of Los Alcázares responsibly and without putting their health at risk,” concluded María José Benzal.
