Parking La Fuensanta in Plaza Europa in the city centre of Murcia
Convenient parking for the Cathedral, the University, Plaza Europa and Museo Muralla
Parking is almost always a problem in the centre of Murcia and this car park is right in the heart of the University district of the city in an area which is extremely busy durings the evenings, particularly towards the weekend.
It is located on Calle Saavedra Fajardo, popularly known in Murcia as the “Calle de las Tascas” – a tasca is a small bar or tavern typically serving tapas and drinks – and although these establishments and various reasonably priced restaurants are open all week it is over the weekend that they are at their busiest.
The car park is beneath the Plaza de Europa and is just a one-minute walk from the university campus of La Merced, so many of those enjoying their evening here are students.
Above is the raised surface of the Plaza de Europa where refreshments are served all day, and presiding over the square is a large modern structure. On the western side is the back of the Iglesia de San Lorenzo, and on the east is a modern building which houses local government offices. To the north is the indoor market which is very popular among local residents.
There are 750 spaces and the car park is open 24 hours a day, with a maximum vehicle height of 2 metres.
