ARCHIVED - Pandemic data stabilises: Murcia Covid update November 29
Hospital pressure has eased off in the Murcia Region this week

There’s been very little change in the evolution of the coronavirus pandemic in the Region of Murcia over the last seven days, a possible indication that the health situation has stabilised as the festive season approaches.
Hospital admissions have dipped slightly and despite a 2 point increase, the Region’s incidence rate remains far below the average across Spain.
Coronavirus infections
The Region of Murcia has registered a total of 523 cases of coronavirus in the latest update published on Monday November 28.
This brings the overall number of infections since the beginning of the pandemic to 461,250.
Of the total cases, 88,439 have been diagnosed in people over the age of 60.
Cumulative incidence rate
The latest data provided by the regional health authorities on Monday November 21 show that the 7-day cumulative incidence rate has taken another welcome dip, dropping to 72.55 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. This is an excellent indication that infection numbers should continue to fall in the coming days.
However, the more important average incidence over a two-week period has jumped slightly in the past week, climbing from 153.63 cases last Monday to 155.77 per 100,000 inhabitants.
The Region of Murcia’s cumulative incidence rate is still well below the Spanish national average which is currently at 181.80 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
Hospitalisations and fatalities
Hospital pressure remains stable with 33 patients admitted for Covid (a decrease of two since last week), one of whom is begin treated for more serious symptoms in the Region’s ICU (no change).
One additional Covid-related fatality has been registered, bringing the overall death toll since the start of the health crisis to 2,474.
Covid testing
The Region of Murcia has carried out 3,232,552 PCR and antigen coronavirus detection tests.
Vaccination data
According to Spanish Ministry of Health data, 94% of the population of the Murcia Region over the age of 12 has had a least one dose. In addition, 93.60% of people are now double jabbed.
Data at a glance from Monday November 28:
