Ouigo celebrates new Alicante-Madrid rail links with cut-price tickets
The rail operator will offer two new routes between the Spanish capital and Alicante from December

Lowcost railway company Ouigo is giving its competitors a run for their money with the announcement of yet more exciting connections at bargain prices. This winter, those wanting to travel between Alicante and Madrid will have two additional services to choose from and on Wednesday October 18, more than 2.5 million tickets go on sale.
Prices start at just 9 euros each way for adults and can be used for travel between December 10 and May 31. Children between 4 and 13 years old can travel for a flat rate of 5 euros while children under three years old travel for free as long as they do not occupy a seat.
From this date, the number of daily high-speed trains operating between Alicante and the Spanish capital will increase from four to six, with departures from the Costa Blanca city at 8am, 2pm and 6pm. From Madrid, trains will leave Chamartín at 10.15am, 2.15am and 6.15pm.
These new trips are in addition to the increase in supply on the Valencia-Madrid line, with four new frequencies from December, bringing the total number of daily journeys between the cities up to ten (five each way).
This increase in trains on the route translates into more than 1.8 million seats annually between both destinations.
The route expansions join Ouigo's commitment to continue growing its high-speed offerings in the Valencian Community. In the first half of next year the low cost company will connect the capital of Spain with Elche and Murcia, with two outward trips and two return. An exact launch date for this service is yet to be set.
