Orange alerts in Alicante for blistering temperatures: Weather forecast July 29-Aug 1
The mercury will blast past 40ºC in many parts of Alicante province this week

Orange and yellow heat alerts in Alicante on Wednesday
The arrival of a DANA in Spain at the beginning of the week will result in widespread rain and storms even as the temperatures continue to climb. As usual though, Alicante’s pleasant micro-climate will protect the province from the worst of the weather and in general, the week promises to be mostly sunny and warm, with marginally cooler nights.
Monday July 29

The week will start off very overcast and hazy along the coast but this should clear by lunch time to reveal mostly sunny skies with a smattering of high clouds. There is a very small chance of some rain and stormy intervals inland during the afternoon.
Daytime temperatures will begin to climb, reaching 36ºC in most parts, and a yellow heat alert has been activated along the southern coast from 1pm.
Tuesday July 30

The haze will linger on Tuesday and the day will be partly cloudy overall. Both day and night-time temperatures could creep up by a degree or two but an easterly breeze should provide some relief.
The yellow alert remains in place on the south Alicante coast.
Wednesday July 31

Few changes are expected on Wednesday but the mercury will continue to climb, hitting a sweltering 41ºC in inland regions like Alcoy.
The high temperature warning has been upgraded to orange, which represents a significant risk, in inland Alicante and along the northern coast, while a yellow alert remains on the southern coast.
Thursday August 1

As we head into a new month, the temperatures continue to climb on Thursday, though as yet no weather warnings have been activated.
The day will be mostly clear with occasional cloudy intervals.
Minimum and maximum temperatures in Alicante this week
- Monday July 29: Min 20ºC; Max 36ºC
- Tuesday July 30: Min 22ºC; Max 37ºC
- Wednesday July 31: Min 23ºC; Max 41ºC
- Thursday August 1: Min 24ºC; Max 42ºC
