Orange alert for gale-force winds and stormy seas: Alicante weather forecast Oct 19-22
Coastal areas of Alicante province will bear the brunt of the bad weather as a new storm sweeps across Spain
Weather warnings on Thursday October 19
A very active Atlantic front will sweep across Spain in the coming days in the form of storm Aline and, unlike previous squalls, this one will hit Alicante province hard with abundant rain, strong gusts and stormy intervals, particularly in coastal areas.
Thursday October 19
After a bright, sunny Wednesday with summer-like temperatures, change is afoot from early Thursday morning. The day will begin rather dull and this cloud cover will increase as the hours go by with widespread and often intense rain forecast in the late evening.
This instability will bring about a drastic drop in temperatures but the main concern is the wind, which has given rise to an orange weather alert along the entire coast for rough seas from 6pm. Coastal areas are also on yellow alert for gusts.
Orange weather alert for dangerous waves: North coast and south coast.
Yellow weather alert for strong wind: North coast and south coast.
Minimum and maximum temperatures on Thursday
Alcoy: 15ºC to 25ºC
Alicante: 19ºC to 28ºC
Denia: 18ºC to 29ºC
Elche: 18ºC to 29ºC
Orihuela: 18ºC to 28ºC
Friday October 20
Friday will begin overcast again with a chance of scattered showers and occasional stormy intervals during the first half of the day. It will clear up in the afternoon, which will be slightly cloudy. The westerly wind will persist with very strong gusts inland which could reach parts of the coast.
Daytime temperatures will take another considerable drop.
Yellow weather alert for rough seas: North and south coasts.
Yellow weather alert for high winds: Inland Alicante province.
Minimum and maximum temperatures on Friday
Alcoy: 12ºC to 20ºC
Alicante: 17ºC to 25ºC
Denia: 16ºC to 26ºC
Elche: 16ºC to 24ºC
Orihuela: 15ºC to 25ºC
Saturday October 21
Storm Aline will have passed by Saturday morning leading to more stable weather, although the skies will still be mostly cloudy with bright intervals. Daytime temperatures could dip by a degree or two but the night will be much cooler, and the wind will lose strength, decreasing from moderate to light in the afternoon.

Alcoy: 9ºC to 19ºC
Alicante: 14ºC to 24ºC
Denia: 14ºC to 24ºC
Elche: 12ºC to 23ºC
Orihuela: 13ºC to 22ºC
Sunday October 22
The chance of rain returns on Sunday with overcast skies throughout. The night will remain chilly and daytime temperatures will continue to fall. A light easterly wind will increase to moderate along the coast.
Minimum and maximum temperatures on Sunday
Alcoy: 10ºC to 15ºC
Alicante: 15ºC to 23ºC
Denia: 14ºC to 21ºC
Elche: 13ºC to 22ºC
Orihuela: 14ºC to 21ºC
