Which shops will be shut in the Region of Murcia on the national holiday tomorrow?

Wednesday October 12 is a ‘festivo’ in Spain, a national holiday for the annual Spanish Day (‘Día de la Hispanidad’) celebrations. Several supermarkets and shops will be closed for the day, including Mercadona. So where can you do your shopping this Wednesday?

Other supermarkets will remain open as usual so you can buy food, clothes and furniture like any other normal day.

These are some of the shops that will be open in the Region of Murcia on Wednesday October 12:

Carrefour will have all its stores open in the Region of Murcia, with opening hours from 9am to 10pm.
Alcampo will also be open with its usual opening hours, from 9am to 10pm.
Decathlon will be open from 10am to 10pm, but the store has warned that some of their branches may choose to change these times, so it’s best to check with each shop directly.
El Corte Inglés will be open from 11am to 9pm.
Ikea will be open from 10am until 8pm, and have also announced on their website that they will have special offers in store this week on October 10, 11 and 12.
MediaMarkt Nueva Condomina and MediaMarkt Ronda Sur will be open from 10am to 10pm.
La Noria Outlet will open from 10am to 10pm.

Parque Almenara Shopping Centre in the Lorca and Aguilas area

Parque Almenara is one of the largest retail and leisure malls in the Lorca and Águilas area, offering the full ‘all under one roof’ shopping experience, except it is open to the elements!

One of the most striking features of Parque Almenara is its three canvas tents suspended 20 metres above the outdoor area, creating a shaded zone and an oasis of calm right in the middle of the mall.

As well as the opportunity for a day’s retail therapy, Parque Almenara also offers the makings of good night out. There is a 10-pin bowling alley with 20 lanes and an entertainment complex, plus a multiscreen cinema with ten screens showing the latest offerings from Hollywood and the best 3D movies, and even original version English-language films.
