Murcia weekend weather forecast January 22-25: Alerts for strong wind continue
There is a chance of rain and snow, especially on Saturday, but it is the wind that really brings the chill factor this weekend
Murcia weather warnings, Saturday January 24Murcia remains under a series of yellow-level weather alerts issued by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) for the next few days. These alerts are put in place up to three days beforehand, and are always being updated.
For now, the weather forecast for this weekend is for more very windy conditions, though the likelihood of rain has decreased.
Thursday January 22
Murcia weather warnings, Thursday January 22This Thursday, almost the entire Region of Murcia is labouring under a weather alert for strong easterly winds that could reach as high as 70kmh, with the exception of the coastline along Cartagena, though that’s not to say it won’t be windy.
Aemet says there is “a chance of light rain in the northwestern mountains” and that the snow level will be around 900-1,000 metres.
Friday January 23
Murcia minimum and maximum temperatures, Friday January 23Friday should be fairly sunny, all told, with clear skies, not too many clouds and the snow level rising to 1,000-1,200 metres. Temperatures continue to reach 19ºC along the Mar Menor and central areas of Murcia, while minimums at night only drop down to 8-11ºC in most places, and 5ºC in the colder areas like Caravaca and Yecla.
Still, there could be more strong winds around Mazarrón, Águilas and Lorca, especially throughout the first part of the day.
Murcia weather warnings, Friday January 23Saturday January 24
Murcia weather forecast, Saturday January 24On Saturday, temperatures take a dip by around four or five degrees, so it will feel much colder, especially with those easterly winds continuing to whip in from the sea. Saturday also brings a higher chance of rain in the afternoon, especially to the western half of the Region, with snowfall possible in the high mountain ranges of the northwest.
Sunday January 25
Murcia weather forecast, Sunday January 25Sunday will be much a cloudier, greyer and darker day, but not quite so wet. Temperatures take a little jump back up to their pre-Saturday levels, at least, but basically it looks like the following few days going into next week will be a continuation of this very overcast and slightly drizzly weather.
Be thankful for it because you know we’ll be moaning about drought in the Region of Murcia before too long!
