Murcia weekend weather forecast January 15-18: Temperatures drop as rain and storms return
Get ready for a wet and chilly weekend in Murcia, with the chance of thunderstorms
Murcia minimum and maximum temperatures, Sunday January 18It’s been a pleasant and sunny week in the Region of Murcia so far, if a little chilly still, but this weekend sees a return of the rain and even some thunderstorms, according to the weather forecast from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).
Thursday January 15
Murcia weather forecast, Thursday January 15This Thursday will still be nice, with Aemet forecasting “partly cloudy skies, becoming cloudy with medium and high clouds in the late afternoon, with a chance of light rain in the northern part of the region”.
They also note there will be some foggy or misty patches towards evening, especially in central parts, but light winds should mean that temperatures stay stable at the same level they have been at all week.
Friday January 16
Murcia weather forecast, Friday January 16It is on Friday 16 when the rainfall becomes more likely and persistent, especially in inland areas. Minimum temperatures will actually rise ever so slightly, according to Aemet, maximum temperatures will not change much for this day, but winds will be a little stronger, giving a feeling of chillier weather.
Saturday January 17
Murcia weather forecast, Saturday January 17There is rain forecast for Saturday morning around Murcia, especially in the eastern and coastal parts, plus thunderstorms in the afternoon, mainly focused on the western part of the Region. So far, no weather warnings have been issued by Aemet.
Saturday also brings the drop in temperatures, down to minimums of 1-3ºC in the north, around 4-8ºC in central parts, and 9ºC on the coast around Cartagena. Maximum temperatures during the height of the day will not surpass 11-15ºC, down by three or four degrees from previous days.
Sunday January 18
Murcia weather forecast, Sunday January 18Sunday will be sunnier than Saturday, though still with rain forecast in the afternoon along coastal parts of Murcia. It will also be a good couple of degrees colder, with minimum temperatures even falling below freezing in northwestern municipalities like Caravaca de la Cruz, which could see frost as a result.
