ARCHIVED - Murcia electric scooter rider fined after riding on the pavement and without helmet or registration plates
The scooters are subject to many of the same requirements as motorcycles in Spain
The local police force in the city of Murcia have initiated procedures to fine an electric scooter user who was caught riding on the pavement, without a helmet and without registration plates on her vehicle alongside the Ronda Sur ring road.
It is worth pointing out that these are all offences, since it is necessary to treat electric scooters as if they were motorcycles and ensure that they are properly registered, as well as wearing helmets and restricting their use to areas where motor vehicles are permitted.
