ARCHIVED - Man seriously injured in Bullas after being trapped underneath tarmac roller
The man was injured while working on the streets near the football pitch in Bullas.
A 51-year-old man was seriously injured on Tuesday, July 13 when he became trapped underneath the roller of an asphalting machine being used on one of the streets near the municipal football pitch in Bullas.
Several calls were made to the 112 Emergency Coordination Centre who dispatched Local Police, CEIS firefighters, a Mobile Emergency Unit (UME) and an ambulance to the scene where the man had been seriously injured. The Instituto de Seguridad y Salud Laboral was also been informed.
After the man was freed, ambulance crews treated and tried to stabilise the injured worker but his injuries were deemed too serious so the 51-year-old was transported to the Virgen de la Arrixaca hospital in Murcia for further treatment.
A full health and safety report has been filed in order to fully investigate the incident.
