ARCHIVED - Man savagely beaten in Elche after reproaching a woman for dropping tangerine skin
The woman's boyfriend allegedly attacked the victim with a motorbike helmet and a baseball bat at a busy Elche intersection

Elche police have arrested a 61-year-old man following a savage attack on a motorist who reprimanded the suspect's girlfriend for throwing a tangerine skin on the ground.
The victim required 15 stitches after being beaten with a motorbike helmet and a baseball bat during the assault in the Daimés district of Elche at the Camino de la Regalicia junction with the CV-851.
According to police, the victim was travelling in his car at around 6pm on Friday December 3 when he reached the intersection and noticed a woman throw a piece of tangerine skin on the floor, so he scolded for her uncivil behaviour.
However, seconds later the woman's partner approached the victim's car and began shaking him and trying to pull him out of the vehicle.
Once he had managed to do so, the boyfriend allegedly hit the man, whose age is unknown, with a motorbike helmet before returning to his own car and retrieving a baseball bat to continue the prolonged attack.
It's not clear who contacted the police, but a patrol was soon at the scene and requested medical assistance for the injured man who was taken to Elche General Hospital where he received 15 stitches to unspecified wounds.
Further tests were also carried out to assess the full extent of his injuries.
The 61-year-old was arrested at the scene "due to the seriousness of the man's injuries" pending a court appearance.
