ARCHIVED - Lucky lottery winner scoops a million in Torrevieja
Winning ticket holder on the Vega Baja bags a huge slice of €14 million jackpot in Friday's EuroMillions draw.
A mystery EuroMillions ticket holder in Torrevieja has become a millionaire after their ticket was drawn in the supplementary El Millón - exclusively for players in spain - which takes place every Tuesday and Saturday.
All players who buy EuroMillions tickets in Spain are entered into the game, in which they need to match the code generated on their ticket with the one drawn to win.
And on Friday, July 16, the player who bought their ticket at the El Conejo de Oro (the Golden Rabbit) outlet at Carrefour Shopping Centre, did just that, bagging an incredible €1 million.
The winning combination was made up of the numbers 5, 16, 42, 47 and 49, stars 3 and 11 with the 'El Millón' combination QCB02838.
Nobody won the jackpot in this particular draw, so a prize of €26 million is at stake on Tuesday, July 20.
