ARCHIVED - Lone goat on the loose in Torrevieja captured by police

The animal is now in a shelter in the Vega Baja area of Alicante province, waiting to be claimed by its owner

A lone goat which had escaped from a plot of land on an urbanisation in the Los Balcones area of Torrevieja caused alarm at the weekend after being spotted wandering along a main road.

Local police received reports from motorists and passersby of a loose goat roaming the streets, and officers were sent to the scene where they discovered the animal had since managed to get into a house and was "feeding in complete tranquility".

According to Torrevieja Emergencias, the "docile animal" happily gave itself up and was caught without a scene before being transferred to the municipal animal shelter while it's owner is traced.
