La Isla Lake pest treatment schedule announced for Condado de Alhama
A revised weekly timetable aims to control the presence of rantelles through coordinated efforts by three pest control companies

Rantelles are non-biting insects that are particularly prevalent in areas near standing water. They are distinct from mosquitoes and are harmless, but can be annoying in large numbers.
On Mondays from 7am to 3pm, the company STV will carry out treatments focused on the lake slopes, hedges, scuppers and the lake water itself.
Wednesdays will see Biocyma operating during the same hours, treating the lake slopes, waterlogged areas and the lake water. However, Biocyma will apply only one of two possible treatments each week, based on pest population observations from the previous week. These treatments may be used alternately or consecutively, but never both at once.
Finally, every other Saturday, between midnight and 6am, Anticimex will conduct treatments on the main façades and corridors of buildings up to the first floor, as well as on ground-floor private gardens and scuppers.
No treatments will be carried out on local, regional or national holidays. For example, operations will be suspended on Monday 9 June in observance of the Day of the Region of Murcia.
Before each treatment begins, everyone except those conducting the treatment should vacate the area being treated, as well as any other zones that may be affected. People with allergies or asthma are urged to be particularly cautious.
Animals, food and any utensils or materials that may come into contact with them must not be present in the treatment zones. Items that cannot be removed must be completely covered with a material that is impermeable to the pesticide. After treatment, all covered items should be thoroughly cleaned before being used again.
It is also important to avoid touching any treated surfaces. If accidental contact occurs, the affected area should be washed immediately.
To ensure treatments are both safe and effective, they will be carried out with consideration for environmental conditions and other relevant factors.
