ARCHIVED - June brings a week of possible storms on the Costa Blanca
Alicante province in the Valencia region could see rain and storms this week.
June will arrive with a mixed bag of weather on the Costa Blanca, according to Aemet which has predicted rain, storms and hail in some parts this week.
While there may be sunny spells as the weekend approaches, the Valencia region is likely to see wet and stormy intervals.
Today, Monday, May 31, is expected to be cloudy, and in the northern half of the scattered showers and even occasional storms haven't been ruled out, with average temperatures of around 18 degrees Celsius.
While Tuesday, June 1, looks likely to be warmer with temperatures around 24 degrees, the clouds are expected to form around midday and inland areas of the region could see showers and thunderstorms with hail.
There's also the probability of scattered showers and thunderstorms later on in the afternoon in coastal areas.
While Wednesday is likely to be cloudy with an easterly wind, Aemet has not predicted rain in most of the region, though this could change on Thursday, May 3, where municipalities further inland can expect occasional showers and possible thunderstorms.
Coastal towns may be lucky enough to just experience light easterly winds.
The weather agency foresees a cloudy Friday with intense rainfall across the region, and light winds on the Alicante coast.
And weather conditions look similar for Saturday, with a return to sunshine on Sunday afternoon.
