June 25-29 Enjoy San Juan fireworks from Santa Barbara Castle, Alicante, booking required
Alicante city's historic and impressive Castillo de Santa Bárbara offers exclusive views of the San Juan fireworks

Excitement is building ahead of San Juan Festival, a Spanish fiesta associated with fire and water to welcome summer that is traditionally enjoyed on the beach.
Incredible firework displays are the backbone of the festivities, and once again, Alicante's historic Santa Barbara Castle is offering the chance to view these spectacular demonstrations launched from Cocó beach from the exclusive Queen's Bastion terrace overlooking the sea.
"The fortress that presides over the Benacantil offers an unbeatable location that allows you to experience the fireworks in a more intimate and special way," promises Alicante Tourist Board.

There are two types of dining tables available; tall, standing tables are designed for two to four diners, and large stone tables are for groups of eight people. Prices start at 100 euros for two diners.
Reservations must be made for a full table via Santa Bárbara Castle's website.
There is always something going at the impressive castle, and from June 21, visitors can enjoy tastings of craft beers and Alicante denomination of origin wines from the Baluarte de la Reina on Wednesdays through to Sundays during the summer months.
More details can be found at the official website above.
