June 22 Night hike to the highest mountain in the Region of Murcia from Inazares in Caravaca de la Cruz

A 5-and-a-half-hour trek to the mountains of the Los Revolcadores massif in north-west Murcia

As part of their sporting and leisure activities for the summer of 2024 the Town Hall of Caravaca de la Cruz has organized two night-hiking walks, the first of which takes place on Saturday June 22 on a circular route from the village of Inazares on the slopes of Los Revolcadores.

Los Revolcadores is the highest peak in the Region of Murcia at just over 2,000 metres above sea level (for reference Ben Nevis reaches only 1.345 metres!).

The walkers from Caravaca will leave at 19.30 from the Templete to Inazares, from where they take on a long 17-kilometre route which should only be tackled by regular and experienced hill and mountain walkers. The ground is unstable in places and the terrain rocky, and the walk is expected to last some 5 and a half hours, with climbs and descents of around 800 metres.

Registration for this event costs 6 euros for non-federation of mountaineering and hiking members (4 euros for members) and can be completed online at sporttia.cm, in person at the office of the municipal swimming pool, by telephone on 9678 703563 or by email to deportes@caravacadelacruz.es.
