ARCHIVED - Incidence falls below 300: Valencia Covid update March 16
The Valencia region's 14-day cumulative incidence rate now stands at 273.2 per 100,000
Whilst Spain has seen a slight increase in incidence rate over the last few days, the Valencia region has bucked the national trend and seen a drop in the 14-day cumulative incidence rate per 100,000 of more than 30 points since Friday March 11. The rate now stands at 273.2, well below the national average of 432.
Hospital admissions continue to fall, along with the number of critically ill patients in ICU, and whilst 19 Covid-related deaths have been reported, this is over a four-day period.
In light of the fact the region appears to have emerged from the worst of the sixth wave of the pandemic, the Ministry of Health will no longer be updating Covid health data on a daily basis; instead it will be released twice-weekly every Tuesday and Friday.

There are currently 512 people admitted to hospital with Covid, down from 531, 46 of them in ICU (13 fewer than on Friday): 71 in the province of Castellón, four in ICU; 159 in the province of Alicante, 16 of them in ICU; and 282 in the province of Valencia, 26 in ICU.
5,716 people have overcome the virus since the last update, which means the total number of recoveries since the start of the pandemic now stands at 1,307,135.
By provinces, the recoveries are distributed as follows: 156,688 in Castellón, 452,869 in Alicante and 691,803 in Valencia. The number of unassigned cases stands at 59.
