In the last week, the 14-day cumulative incidence rate has finally dipped below the 800 case mark, and although there has been a very slight increase in ICU admissions, hospital pressure in general has also eased off.

The Ministry of Health in Spain registered 45,919 new cases of coronavirus on Friday May 27, of which 22,120 were diagnosed in people over 60 years of age. This brings the total number of infections since the beginning of the health crisis to 12,326,264.
Cumulative incidence rate
The 14-day cumulative rate has dropped more than 70 points to stand at 728.22 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, compared to 800.47 a week ago.
Andalucía continues to be the community with the lowest rate, at just 433.19 cases, followed by Asturias (549.61) and the Balearic Islands (566.88).
The Region of Murcia has now dropped below the 1,000 case mark, while the Valencian Community sits slightly lower than the Spanish national average, with 626.01 cases per 100,000.
Hospitalisations and fatalities
There are currently 6,980 patients hospitalised in Spain with Covid, down from 7,364 on Tuesday, while 379 people are being treated for more serious symptoms in the ICU, up slightly from 364.
With this general reduction, the occupancy rate of beds has fallen from 5.94% to 5.64%, while 4.2% of ICU beds are occupied by coronavirus patients (up from 4.07% on Tuesday).
The Ministry registered an additional 236 Covid-related fatalities on May 27, bringing the official death toll since the start of the pandemic to 106,341.

As of May 30, a total of 39,073,379 people, representing 92.6% of the population over the age of 12 are now double jabbed. In addition, 39,229,110 people, or 93%, have had at least one vaccine.
To date, a total of 2,084,854 children (54.6%) between the ages of 5 and 11 have received their first jab while 1,667,671 are fully inoculated (43.7%).
