ARCHIVED - Hunt for owner of 30 thousand euros found in Orihuela
Anyone lost €30,000? Enormous wad of cash found in the Vega Baja, Alicante province.
We've all lost a fiver in our time, but imagine losing thousands! Someone has, and the Local Police in Orihuela are eager to track them down.
It's not clear if the huge wad of cash was found by a member of the public and handed in, or by the police, but officers and the local council are keen to make sure the money is returned to its rightful owner.
The discovery has been posted on police's social media, and will also be published on the local authority's website, "so that the owner can prove ownership".
But within an hour, the Facebook post was met with a variety of responses from the public, with one joking: "It's mine, thirty thousand in bank notes, right?
Another commented: "I would not like to be in their shoes if it belonged to their mother or a company, so much money..."
While a third added: "The money is surely illegal."
