Hot weekend ahead with alerts for high temps: Alicante weather forecast August 17-20
Parts of inland Alicante will tip 38ºC or 39ºC on Friday and Saturday

The second half of August is promising typical summery weather in Alicante province with temperatures a little higher than we would normally expect and largely clear, bright days forecast all weekend.
Thursday August 17

After a slightly cloudy start, particularly along the coast, the skies will clear giving way to a mostly sunny day, although it could grow more overcast in mountain areas later in the afternoon. The temperatures will remain largely unchanged and a light, northerly breeze will have little impact.
Minimum and maximum temperatures on Thursday
Alcoy: 21ºC to 34ºC
Alicante: 23ºC to 31ºC
Denia: 23ºC to 32ºC
Elche: 21ºC to 33ºC
Orihuela: 22ºC to 35ºC
Friday August 18

The mercury will begin to ramp up on Friday and inland Alicante has been issued with a yellow weather alert for temperatures that could reach as high as 38ºC. A variable light wind from the south in the afternoon will bring little relief as any morning cloud cover will dissipate from noon.
Minimum and maximum temperatures on Friday
Alcoy: 22ºC to 36ºC
Alicante: 23ºC to 31ºC
Denia: 23ºC to 33ºC
Elche: 22ºC to 34ºC
Orihuela: 22ºC to 38ºC
Saturday August 19

Slightly cloudy skies will predominate on Saturday and the north of Alicante and coastal areas will have a particularly overcast start. Temperatures will rise again across the board although this will be much more pronounced inland, where significantly high values of 37-39ºC will be reached.
Inland areas of the province have again been issued with a yellow heat warning between the hours of 1pm and 8pm.
Minimum and maximum temperatures on Saturday
Alcoy: 23ºC to 36ºC
Alicante: 23ºC to 31ºC
Denia: 23ºC to 32ºC
Elche: 22ºC to 34ºC
Orihuela: 23ºC to 36ºC
Sunday August 20

The weather alerts have been removed on Sunday and the day promises to be mostly clear with some intervals of high clouds in the afternoon. While the temperatures won’t change that dramatically, they will dip a little inland and a light easterly breeze with moderate northeasterly intervals will cool the Alicante coast in the morning.
Minimum and maximum temperatures on Sunday
Alcoy: 22ºC to 35ºC
Alicante: 23ºC to 31ºC
Denia: 24ºC to 32ºC
Elche: 22ºC to 33ºC
Orihuela: 24ºC to 34ºC
