This week in Alicante will be marked by persistent rain and a dip in temperatures
Hardly a corner of Spain will escape the deluge forecast for the coming days as autumn takes hold, and the Valencian Community is expected to be one of the regions hit hardest by the storms this week.
Monday October 10
The beginning of the week promises to be largely clear in the morning with the worst of the rain predicted in Alicante province from noon, with a 100% probability of showers between 6pm and midnight. The community has been put under a weather alert for storms that could result in 30 litres per square metre.
The daytime temperatures will remain warm, hovering around the high 20s with a light, easterly or south-easterly wind in the afternoon.
Minimum and maximum temperatures on Monday:
Alcoy: 13ºC minimum; 24ºC maximum
Alicante: 17ºC; 27ºC
Denia: 16ºC; 27ºC
Elche: 15ºC; 27ºC
Orihuela: 16ºC; 27ºC
Tuesday October 11
It will be an overcast start to Tuesday with the possibility of strong storms or heavy rain along the north coast of the province. Nighttime temperatures will rise slightly, topping off at 17ºC in Alcoy and Orihuela. Along the coast, a weak easterly breeze is expected.
Minimum and maximum temperatures on Tuesday:

Elche: 16ºC; 25ºC
Orihuela: 17ºC; 25ºC
Wednesday October 12
The north coast of Alicante is under a yellow level weather alert for heavy rain on Wednesday, stronger earlier in the day and subsiding towards the late afternoon. The rest of the province will be mostly cloudy with the occasional bright spell. No major change to the temperatures.
Minimum and maximum temperatures on Wednesday:

Alicante: 18ºC; 27ºC
Denia: 17ºC; 24ºC
Elche: 16ºC; 26ºC

Thursday October 13
Thursday should be a little more settled, although the occasional shower and storms are likely along the south coast early in the morning. This will ease off towards noon, although most of the province will experience another cloudy day.
A weak moderate northeast wind will lower the nighttime temperatures somewhat with the mercury set to rise slightly during the day.
