Great summer for tourism: Aguilas hotel occupancy reaches 90 per cent
The town of Águilas had a hotel occupancy rate of 90% this August

According to data provided by the Tourist Office of the Águilas Town Hall, this August hotel occupancy has reached 90% in the main tourist accommodation in the town, which is a considerable increase compared to the summer period of 2022. In July, occupancy was lower than in August, at around 75%.
In terms of the number of tourists, the Tourist Office and the three information points located on the beaches of Las Delicias, La Colonia and Calabardina attended 5,128 people during the two months of July and August, which is just 0.3% less than in the same period of the previous year.
Of the total, 16.21% were foreigners, mainly from France, the United Kingdom and Belgium; 44.46% were of Spanish origin, mainly from Madrid and Barcelona, and 38.12% were from the Region of Murcia.
There were 14 free guided visits to monuments and tourist sites, such as the Route to the Historic Centre, the Guided Visit to the Castle, the Dramatised Visit to the Museums, the Gillman and the Railway Route and the Marina de Cope Path Route, organised by the Department of Tourism, with a participation of 404 people.
It is worth mentioning that eight visits were made to the Hornillo jetty during this period, with the attendance of 815 people, making this local monument the most visited of the summer.
