From March 1 Benidorm celebrates the best of gastronomy in 2024
A huge range of culinary events, tastings and workshops will be held in the Alicante city throughout the year
The wait is finally over, as Benidorm Gastronomic 2024 kicks off on Friday March 1 with the highly anticipated XII Jornadas de la Cuchara. This beloved event has become a staple in the local culinary scene, attracting foodies and gastronomy enthusiasts from far and wide.
Between March 1 and 10, take a mouthwatering journey through the flavours of Benidorm, as twelve top-notch restaurants come together to offer exclusive menus at an unbeatable price of 25 euros.
Participating restaurants include Bolikki, El Esturión, El lineage de Castilla, Jardín Mediterráneo, La Cava Aragonesa, La Marina, La Tapería, Malpas, Mía Social Club, Pinocchio Playa, Punto de Sal and La Taberna Andaluza.
But that's not all. The jam-packed calendar of events has something for every taste bud and will continue throughout the year. Here's what's coming up:
- IV Tuna Days: April 12-21
- XIV Tapas and Pinchos Contest: June 14-23
- III Cocktail Contest: September 13-22
- XIII Rice Days: October 25-November 3
At the press conference held earlier this week at the El Torrejó building, Mayor Toni Pérez, Vice President of Abreca Alex Frattini, and godfather of Benidorm Gastronomic 2023 Manuel Martínez from the El Ducado restaurant came together to officially launch this year's programme.
Mayor Toni Pérez closed the event by pointing out that “Gastronomic Benidorm is something very much ours.
“We started this week talking about gastronomy with the EuroToques assembly, a space for reflection and debate for chefs from Spain” and he assured that in Benidorm, “the bar, the restaurant, the hospitality industry, is the soul of the street.
“Each restaurant becomes the home of those who visit it and many of you do that all year round, but especially with Benidorm Gastronomic,” he concluded.
