Fresh tax cuts in Murcia for going to the gym, glasses for children and disabilities
As part of the new tax scheme, Stamp Duty and the Wealth Transfer Tax will be reduced

During the first session of the Debate on the State of the Region of Murcia, the President of the Region, Fernando López Miras, announced new fiscal measures and strategic plans to alleviate the economic burden on families and promote economic development. Among the initiatives highlighted were new tax cuts and a Plan to Boost Industry.
López Miras stressed that the Region of Murcia is experiencing one of its best moments thanks to the effort and talent of its citizens. He pointed to record levels of employment, with almost 670,000 people affiliated to the Social Security system, and the creation of an average of seven companies a day. In addition, the Region is the second fastest growing region in GDP in the period 2010-2022 and is projected to be the second fastest growing in GDP by 2025, with a 2.6% increase.
On the tax front, the president announced fresh tax cuts. Regional tax deductions will be extended, including a deduction of up to 100 euros for the purchase of prescription glasses and contact lenses for children under 12, and a 30% deduction on sports-related expenses such as going to the gym, up to a maximum of 150 euros. These measures aim not only to make direct savings for taxpayers, but also to encourage healthy lifestyles and boost the economy of the sports sector.
In addition, the tax rebate for people with disabilities will be extended, increasing the deductible amount from 120 to 150 euros per year and raising the maximum income to 40,000 euros.
In terms of the Wealth Transfer Tax (Impuesto de Transmisiones Patrimoniales) and Stamp Duty (Actos Jurídicos Documentados), the aggravated rate for transfers subject to VAT will be reduced from 2% to 1.5%.
