Free open-air summer concerts in Petrer July 8-August 27
Cultura al Carrer festival kicks off in Petrer, Alicante province next weekend with 16 concerts throughout July and August

Summer in Petrer is synonymous with music and culture, and next weekend sees the start of the much-anticipated Cultura al Carrer (street culture) festival with 16 free concerts lined up throughout July and August.
The performances will take place on Saturdays at 10pm in El Campet Park and on Sundays at 8.30pm in the Jardines Alcalde Vicente Maestre.
The festival offers something for everyone's musical tastes, with bands performing jazz, flamenco, pop rock, dance music, and more.
Councillor for Culture, Fernando Portillo said: "We have tried to make sure we have a varied programme, where there is a balance of 50% local artists and groups and 50% from further afield. The main idea is that locals and guests can enjoy music and culture at the weekend over the summer months."
In addition to Cultura al Carrer, Petrer will also host the José Tomás-Villa de Petrer International Guitar Festival from July 8 to 22, which will bring together more than 80 musicians, artists and groups from around the world performing 22 concerts.
