ARCHIVED - Festival of Performing Arts in Orihuela: October 8 to November 7
The Atanasio Die Marín Theatre in the Vega Baja is hosting Orihuela’s II Festival of Performing Arts this weekend
Fun for all the family is promised in Orihuela as the town hosts its second Festival of Performing Arts (‘Festival de artes escénicas’).
Following a grant of 7,683 euros from Alicante Provincial Council to promote the arts sector, Orihuela Council and the Teatro Circo Atanasio Die Marín have put together a program of free events from October 8 to November 7, including an acrobatic circus, theatre performances for children and adults, and dance.
Orihuela Festival of Performaing Arts line-up:
- Friday October 8, 9pm: Acrobatic circus show ‘Confort’, in which a “lonely man” with only a television for company, takes the audience through a humorous roller coaster of emotions, and “insane situations experienced during lockdown”.
- Sunday October 10, 6pm: Children’s play ‘The collector of happy moments’, aimed at encouraging children to save precious moments of happiness for the rest of their lives.
- Saturday October 23, 8.30pm: Play ‘Federico, Untitled performance’. Murdered poet Federico García Lorca, 82, humorously details his demise with live music and songs.
- Sunday November 7, 7.30pm: Dance show ‘Clandestino’.
