ARCHIVED - Elderly French woman killed in Costa Blanca bull run
This is the seventh fatality in the Valencian Community this year

A 73-year-old French woman lost her life on Thursday August 25 at the annual bull run in the Alicante municipality of Beniarbeig. This brings to seven the total number of deaths at bull fighting festivities in the Valencian Community, the largest amount of fatalities since 2015.
The Guardia Civil has confirmed that the latest victim was well-known in the community and died after being gored by a bull.
The Alicante municipality has decreed a day of mourning and has suspended all bullfighting events after the accident. In recent days, the town of Tavernes de la Valldigna cancelled its bull run while Nàquera in Valencia also axed the event after a couple of children sneaked into the animal enclosure after hours.
